The Quiet, Elegant Interior of Designer Lisa Sherry

I'm finding that Interior Design is fast becoming another love of mine. And while I fancy myself a colorist from way back, I do every now and then admire those who can take neutrals and use them to beautify and brighten a room or a complete space. Such were the choices for Interior Designer, Lisa Sherry, when designing her own home. Check out these beautiful pics of the quiet elegance spread throughout her abode. Holiday Wonder

Hi everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! My Christmas was kind of busy and annoying (no internet until today, AAAARRRRGGGGHHH)! But I'm back up and running so I'll be making more posts real soon. I have two weeks off, starting yesterday and hope to do a lot of creating during that time.

So keep coming back and I'll do my best to make it worth your while.

Ciao, me Bellas!

Christmas goes Green

Use to the red, green and white lights on the outside of the home or the big, gaudy Santa, sleigh and reindeer on the front lawn or on the roof? How about something a little more subtle?

I think this room is beautifully, yet modestly decorated. The use of fir trees and mistletoe adds color and warmth to a festive environment. What do you think? Christmas without the traditional red. N'est-ce pas?

The Knitty Gritty

freshome.com

My friend is going to love this post. Kimberly is a fantastic knitting and crocheting machine and we are planning many future collaborations for Cultural Chic. So when I found this lovely article on Freshome.com, I couldn't wait to share it with her and you;0)

I think these pieces are simply magnificent. It never occured to me to incorporate knitting and crocheting on such a large scale. When I think of enhancing spaces with kneedlecraft, it's usually in the form of rugs or throws. But furniture?!

Below are creations of some very talented kneedlecraft designers. I'm sure that you and Kimberly will be very pleased with the results of their labor.

Enjoy, Mon Ami!

My Stuff

Hi, all. Hope everyone is gearing up for a fantabulous weekend. I hope to hop on over to a 10th anniversary soiree at 5000 Shoes and More. If I can make it, I'll do a post and let you in on one of the hidden jewels in the Big "D". (read more about that here).

Anyhoo, "My Stuff" is a segment where I feature work that was created by yours truly. Here's just a little taste of what I do.

Hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think! Ciao!

Global Inspiration

Hello all!

Considering the fact that I am looking to leave the country next year for a short vacation, I feel it only appropriate that I open my inspiration series with beautiful apartments from around the world.

This 57 Square-Meter Duplex With Slanting White Walls hails from Stockholm. I just thought this was the most innovative way to decorate a spacially-challenged dwelling. Plus you really can't go wrong with black against white. The natural wood accents really take it up a notch. I like, I like! What about you?

Please Forgive and Welcome to Cultural Chic!

Hello, all.

I'm not even going to get deeply into where I've been or what's been going on. Just know that I've been working feverishly (in my brain at least) at what I wanted to do with this blog. As you well know, I love to draw and write(duh?) and I've already said that I was changing the focus of Positively Lovely to incorporate home decor, interior and accessories design. So, as I contemplate creating my own line of accessories and implementing my own online empire, I've decided to change the name of this blog to incorporate what what I see in it's future.

Drum roll, please....Welcome to Cultural Chic! Where I showcase my creations and the things that inspire me to create.

I know it's been strange and I've been MIA far too long. I want to thank those of you who have been returning, waiting for something to elevate your creative juices. And a big thank you to those who have liked me and followed my fan page on facebook, (which I must also change).

So continue to join me on my creative journey and let's discover something fabulous together!
